Thank heaven! (new car)--Now with pictures!
Though my Neon, for the most part, has been a decent and reliable car, it'* time for me to move on. It'* a high mileage vehicle, and as such, is going to have buku problems to come...after the head gasket is fixed.
On Saturday, we went to a local dealership to look at a car, on tip from my father-in-law. We walked away with my "new" car, a 1995 Chevy Lumina with 60,000 actual miles. We bought it from the dealership that sold it new and serviced it. There'* a pile of maintenance and repair records (they just had the intake completely redone). The car was garage kept and washed regularly. It runs beautifully, and the exterior is almost flawless.
I went from a vehicle with a 3.8 to a 5.0 to a 5.7 to a 2.0 Now I'm back in a full-size car with a 3100 v6 and am getting almost identical gas mileage to the Neon!
Pictures to come tomorrow. I look forward to years to come in this car!
(BillBoost will be relieved, as will Tracy...who tried to talk me out of the Neon in the first place. )

Nice! Just keep a eye on the water pump (original?) and LIM gaskets even though they are new. My mom'* 3100 blew a water pump and she ignored it, now it has a blown head gasket, so keep a lookout, otherwise they are nice, reliable cars.

Wow, good luck! I would be nervous about buying a low mileage older car for daily driving. I had a ten year old Thunderbird I bought in college that had 46,000 miles and it blew three head gaskets in less than a year and a half.

Can't. Due to the number of vehicles we have (I have three, he has three...and there'* a camper, too!), we have to have separate insurance policies.
