Summer time toys!
Yeah well summer is getting closer, and what does Renée tell me she wants to buy to travel to work with???
http://www.yamaha-motor.ca/products/...oup=M|&LANG=en
At first I was against it, but I am starting to come around. Besides if she gets that, then I get this
http://www.yamaha-motor.ca/products/...=en#contentTop
That way, I can still ride with her, but I can still hit the local trails around here and get a bit dirty, lol.
All we need now is the $$$ for it, lol.

Yeah the sport bike is pretty sweet, but it is only good for on road use, and will cost 2-3 times more on insurance. PLUS I have a trail right across the road from mu place that can link up to many places.
and the second bike cost less initially and on insurance, lol.
Renee wants it to travel to and from job sites, whereas mine would be for fun.

Well, we may have to wait till the fall to get them, but we would like to both go for the course and get our licenses for the bikes.
I seen a MINT 2002 Kawasaki Ninja today, it had only 529km (328 miles) and it was a trade in. It was in a nice deep metallic purple, it is only a 500cc but that is plenty of power for Renee to learn on. They wanted 4,600$ for it ( approx 4,000$ US). It still had the knobbies on the tires it was SO new. It was lady owned but they ride 4 wheelers more than bikes, so it sat there.
If I had the $$$ I would have got it for me, never mind Renee, lol.

I thought of getting my Motorcylce permit, but I need to save up so I can take the class, because I need to learn before I take the test. Abuddy of mine has a Harley Sportster he said he would let me use if I got my license.
Time for an engine swap LOL

Well I went and looked at a Kawasaki 500EX(ninja), yeah I know it is kinda old, it is a 90. Would need a rear tire ( only cause the weather got to it, cracked sidewall), and a new battery, that I know of to get it back in shape. Of course once I dig in it may be more than that. The age does bother me, but Renée seems to like it and so do I.
He is coming by my place tomorrow to have a look at my kart. I may trade him my kart and engine for the bike. BUT I would be keeping the trailer I built.
I do need to fix the front fairing, since a signal light got broken off, it was parked at his wifes sisters place for a few years and one of their kids damaged it. He also has the other signal light since he was going to replace them with surface mount ones, and had the 2 mirrors off to fix the fairing.
So for a bike that will get learned on, and most likely dumped a few times, might not be a bad idea.
I got a couple of pictures. That front fairing is just sitting on the bike and the lower body work is off also, since there is a crack in it that he was going to fix. Did I mention it was pretty dirty, lol. That fairing was stored in a shed and is really dusty. I am sure it would clean up nicely.
We would BOTH be getting our permits and be looking at taking the course, for a couple of reasons, first one is cheaper insurance. Second it will teach Renée the basics of bikes. I have at least had one in the past, but I was never "trained" to use one, I just hopped on and rode it.
