Yessir, Eric'* joyride (I was driving at the time, but he had earlier) is what FINALLY did it. The amazing thing is that something didn't let loose at the Dragstrip this summer. I fully expected. Zilla'* valvetrain has 120k miles on it, and needed refreshing anyway.
Believe it or not, she'* still drivable, and I do make short trips (or have been the last couple weeks, as I'm only 2 miles from work). Wouldn't you know, the 95 chose this time to do the MELTDOWN in General Chat.

Are you planning to "upgrade" any valvetrain components now or are you going to get basically stock replacement parts? I know you mentioned never having done valvetrain work for performance and you've obviously been successful on the strip
I'm not sure what'* available for the S1 though (less clearance at the valvecovers too right?).
- or is this winter'* project totally classified?

I was already going into the motor to __remove the cam___and __send it to comp cams to have it reground .
