"Performance Edition" and wow, i'm underwhelmed.
same feeling of the motor being winded out and out of breath past 3000rpm... 4500 was hit
the interior is just SOOOOO cheap... cheap cheap cheap black plastic everywhere. Gimme the '91 SSE interior, ktnx.
ride? bumps linger around longer with the same firmness. I think I'm used to the floatiness.
Please tell me the GTP is leaps and bounds over the GT.

Year? My neighbor had a 99'. It had the crappiest interior- door pannels coming lose after a year, cheap rental like seats, ect... I must say it seemed pretty darn quick for a GT, but thats in comparison to my car. Now a 95' LSS would whop it on the track.

Its definitely not a luxury car, the NA GT can be modded, but GTP and GTX is where its at.
I drove a 2002 GTP Special Edition in cherry red and performance wise it knocked my socks off, interior tho, yes, much left to be desire, then again the interior in my car makes it hard to compare....Bonneville can be the same way.
The GP has always been more geared to the motoring enthiuast

My aunt had a 1999 GT. Metallic gulf blue with tan leather interior with the high polished 5 spoked rims and bose. The car was nice with a luxury sport look. I liked it and plan on getting me one. Hopefully the GTP.

I drove a 99 GT and I too was dissapointed in it. I thought a GT should handle better than the Riviera.. but it didn't. I was unimpressed with the performance too, it seemed SLOW! I also agree about the interior being horrible in it. Never heard so many squeaks and rattles on a car with only 48,000 miles on it! I definately won't ever be trading my car in on a GP.
