Jacobs ladder is another term for long sustained Arc'* and were often shown in old sci fi movies. I have built afew jacobs ladders using a furnace transformer (old 10,000 volt variety) and have an on going tesla coil that I some times play with.
I was an Industrial eletrician for 20 years before moving into management if your wondering where my intrest comes from.

recently received new information regarding this video from Wally Groff, a Journeyman Operator at Bonneville Power Administration (BPA
5th Vid affected Bill
The above incident was captured on October 30, 2005 at a Pacific Power substation in Corvallis, Oregon by nearby Oregon State University students. An overload on one of the phases apparently initially caused a HV fuse element to open.

Nice post mos, when younger I use to make large gideon ladders using commercial size neon dispaly transformers. And had some hair raising slipups Didnt know theory behind it just something my dad showed me ,....
then wish he hadnt.
