When I'm actually happy to pay 1.99 for gas.

And I thought $2.12 was a good price.
You are not an old fart, that is my job. I remember the gas wars of 1968 when Sunoco 260 was .25 a gallon. Took less than $5 to fill up my 66 Vette.

I'll join you in the old fart kingdom. I remember the price wars where it could get down to $.10 a gallon...and...they pumped the gas for you! The gas gauge was broken on my '59 Chevy so, I'd estimate how much I had by the number of miles I drove. It was a bit embarrassing when they could only get like 50 cents in.

I know what Mos is saying, too. I was pretty excited to get premium at $2.24 last week We old farts get our excitement where we can.
