S10 is dead again....

Wow.... Just wow. I can't seem to get a break. I pulled off my back wheel to get to some bed bolts out, and decided to pull the drum off to check the brakes, and guess what? NO PAD LEFT ON THE DAMN SHOES! and the drums have grooves in them!!!!!!!!
I really hope they can be turned without having to replace them. So add, shoes, wheel cylinders, and springs to the list for both sides.

That stinks about the brakes. If the grooves aren't that bad, just get some cheap new shoes for the drums. They should do fine until you can have them fixed or until you can get new ones. My front rotors had grooves in them when my pads wore to metal. I just got some cheap pads until I get new rotors. The car brakes just fine, and the grooves are smoothed out (though still visible).
You can also get a $5 tubing bender to do the brake lines.

It sounds like he means the pad is gone and the rivets that normally hold the friction material to the metal shoe are wha is grooving the drums. If that'* the case, then cheap new shoes aren't going to cut it. He won't have contact area till they wear way down.
Also if that';* the case, they're not turnable. Most brakes only have a small margin for re-turning.
