Ya I saw that just before I left the country.
The pollution is so bad here you can't even see more than a mile. I asked the locals if they thought it was because of the volcano and they said ..........no it'* alway this bad.
It'* way worse than anything I have ever seen........Vancouver, or LA or anywhere else in North America.
Santiago is inland and the mountains trap all the pollution......and there is NO wind.

One of the guys here rented a Yugo and we took a trip to the sea port of Valparaiso.
Got to tour a Winery and bought a few.
What a cool ......and very old city. Chiles largest sea port and home of their Navy. Big destoyers sitting out front.
No time to post pics now. L8R
A little like San Francisco with streets that go up at 45 degree slopes and cobblestone streets, cable cars, fish vendors on the streets.
Had to watch where you stepped though.......lots of stray dogs.
