However, a turbo-swap is NOT a bolt-in affair, unless you're slapping a turbo onto your existing motor... which is a whole different story.
The only Lexus that'* FWD right now (and ever, for that matter) is the ES, which is basically a gussied up Camry. IS, GS, LS are all RWD and have always been. Great motors in those things, they're robust and smooth... and can take a lot of mods.
In Japan, the GS, known as the Toyota Aristo, gets no 4.3L V8. Instead, they get a 3.0 I6 twin turbo (version of the IS300 motor) from the MKIV Supra. Now THAT, at 320hp, is badass.
The Lexus IS300 should beat out NA Bonnevilles... and 5-speed versions MIGHT give SSEi'* a run for their money too, with 60mph coming in the high sixes.
The motors in those cars are tough sumbitches... don't underestimate 'em

... the IS would be a 3-series fighter, not really based on anything. The GS is like a luxuri-sized Supra with four doors. The LS, well, it won Car and Driver'* recent comparison (even on disadvantaged, non-sport package wheels/tires), good stuff
One of Lexus' SUV'*, the RX330, is also a bigged up Camry. The GX470 is a gussied up 4-Runner (but better, they're not similar at all), and the LX470 is well, like a Land Cruiser, an uber-offroad vehicle.
