I saw four of those plastic bolt-clips that attached the bottom of the bumper cover to the plastic piece above it, but the piece above it does not look attached firmly. Is that also clipped on? I'll have to pull the body manual out.

I think there'* a series of clips on the underskirt, as well....hang on......body book coming out.....crap. I don't see them in my breakout. That may be something to just take back to the shop. Anything could be loose in there.....the lower cover support, the filler (might be missing).....who knows. If the weather looks good later, I might be able to check Josh'* SSE. He'* had no rear impacts that I know of.

From the manual it looks like three push-in retainers that attach that center support piece to the impact bar. And then there are the four push-in retainers that hold the bottom of the bumper to that same center support.
So the connections I'm suspicious of are the three retainers that attach the center support piece to the impact bar. I'll have to get under there and see if they are attached.
Also I'll tug on some Bonny bumpers that I see in parking lots.

In Mississippi if you get caught without insurance it is an automatic $1000.00 fine. They have zero tolerance. When I lived in Chicago it was $500 but that might have changed since I've moved from there. Even though everyone knows and agrees that people should have it- it is just like anything else. There are those that either refuse to get it or can't really afford it. I see about 2 or 3 uninsured claims per month easily.

Sorry to hear that Fuddyduddy. I think the curse oif the green Bonneville'* is getting rear-ended by the non-insured.
Good luck getting him to pay. At least he is getting taken to court -cops here in MN told me they didn't want to deal with the kid that hit me and so I pretty much was made the *** and I was the one stopping for the stop sign.
Here'* what a non-insured did to my 1992 SE in May, 2002.

Back to the body shop today. Bottom of rear bumper fixed. Three pushpins missing from the center support piece to the impact bar and one more missing from the license plate area.

I took a hit last year (October).
I've had the car in the shop twice already to fix the damage, and it still has to go back for a 3rd time because the stupid people won't take the time to get it all right the first time.
Pain in the ***
On the bright side, my 97'* behind has a lifetime warranty now.
Just like my 91'* front end and hood.... (91 was laid up for over a month)
