re-tapping an o2 bung hole
working on buddies 99 chevy 1500, doing O2 sensors... passenger side
first bank came out REALLY hard, not just in the beginning, all the way though.. went to the second bank and it came out like a charm, replaced the second bank and then went to replace the first bank... it would not thread right and i ended up ******* the threads up on the $100 O2 sensor
i got a mirror and looked at the threads on the exhaust pipe.. they are HORRIBLE to say the least.. is it possible the factory cross threaded the O2 on?
it needs to be re-tapped, is it even possible? my dad suggested that we use the old O2, and cut notches out of it to make our own die before going out and buying one... anyone ever done this?
i hate working on other people stuff and then be held accountable
i lost my phone in the ordeal also!!!!!!

I know how Andrew is feeling right now, got that ahh **** sensation going on.
I would have to admit defeat, since I don't have a tap set.
