When I was like 5, I would go in the garage and Bug Dad to help. He had a lawnmower giving him fits not starting. I was giving him the best idea'* my little mind could conjure. He grew weary of it and said, "Here hold this out of the way while I pull the start cord. I guess he wanted to get me out of the garage, it was the spark plug wire. That was 51 years ago. I almost forgot about it, but fors year growing up I figured someday I'd get even........ And then I became a teenager. Poor Dad.

We've tackled a few projects along the way. My wife took a picture of him holding a flash light for me while I was changing out an Opti-Spark distributor and water pump on my 94 Impala SS. We have taken on challenges from bikes, lawn mowers, snowblowers and his talents have matured nicely over time. He really got fired up when I told him that my d/d 2002 Monte SS was likely going to be his first car, and that he'd be responsible for it'* care while his. I think that should keep him focused. My 7 y/o daughter has even gotten her hands dirty with the Old Man a time or two.

Did mini-bikes also. I was always taking things apart to see how they work. I was not very good at keeping track of how I took them apart and frequently didn't get things back together quite right...but I sure had fun doing it!
