Just make sure you run the checkers every now and then. I'm not sure about the rest but Ad-Aware only scans for these when manualy initiated. It doesn't do real time scanning, unless you get the pro version which cost $$$.

I just got the same exact thing!!! that has never happened to me before....ive gotten plenty of pop-ups but nothing like what just happened, i posted a new topic and when it switched to a new page it bombed me lol. so yeah your not the only one man....i have windows XP, and have cable internet....not sure if that makes a difference?

For those of you who have firwalls you can block the IP adress of the following sites:
www .gator.com
www .xupiter.com
These are two of the biggest offenders of the Spyware. By blocking these two sites you will get rid of most , but not all, of the spyware. Just make sure you block the IP and not just the name. There are multiple domain names on each server. By blocking the site name only you will miss most of the spyware.
Since we have blocked the IP of Gator.com here at work we have had no new infestations of Gator or it'* related spyware.
Anyone who wants more information on Spyware and Spyware removal tools there is a decent article in this months PC Magazine starting on page 85 about this subject.
