From the reviews I read, it'* a fad that will die hard and fast.
FYI, ALL new cellphone models come out with an exclusive provider to begin with. Not just the iPOS.

I am really curious to see how th battery holds up.
That is really my biggest issue, is that i dont want my cell phone battery dying because im listening to music.
2nd issue: not enough storage. If there was a 20gb model we would be in business!

There will always be a market for the gadgets that do "everything", as is obvious from the crazy rush this past weekend, but more and more people are getting tired of the phone running their lives.
When you find that you just cannot let the phone go to voice mail, even if you are in a meeting or otherwise seriously occupied, then the phone/gadget rules you. It is no longer a convenience, it'* an annoyance.

Yes, people will definitely buy gadgets. I'm one of 'em, just not my phone.
And, the phone thing is just wierd. Having worked in call centers the last 5+ years, I can't believe people can talk on the phone for a living, and on their breaks, the first thing they do is grab their cell phone....
And at the mall, events, etc... I've even seen people on their fishing boats, yapping on the phone. I thought the whole point of stuff like fishing was to get away from that kinda stuff...

I agree too, I don't use my cellphone (for text messaging) and I'm not constantly text messaging other people, I only message when I NEED to. I've seen at college that RIGHT after class is over, about 90% of people immediately go for the cellphone..
*RIINNNNGGG* I'm sorry but I need to take this....
"Omygawd, I haven't talked to you forever! How are you doing! I'm peeing right now! Dearie, can you hold on, those rude people are watching me..."
