OBVIOUSLY there was more to it than just the game... the game probably helped set him off, but there is no way at all that the game alone sent him over the edge

He obviously had problems with his parents to begin with. This wasn't just some 'normal' guy who got pissed his team lost.

Since the father is still alive...I'm wondering how he didn't/couldn't stop his son from killing the mother. He must have been knocked out when his son punched him...very sad story.
