I love that body style. Nice find. Looks good for the price. Looking to pick up a GM truck around that year myself.

Actually at the going exchange rate, that is more like 1,000$ U.*. Our dollar is kicking A$$ and is basically on par with the U.*. dollar.hehe

Sitting at 0.95$, so basically on par. By the sounds of it, we may even go more and surpass the U.*. dollar.

2 bbl or 4? Mine'* an 81, that one has a lot straighter body, though. Mine is dented up but is 99% rust free. Absolutely no rust on underbody.

Mine has a 305 in it now that had a 4 bbl when we got it. It was the original Rochester from a 79. I changed that to a big ole Edelbrock .

I just want to get it running first. BUT I was thinking of keeping it stock and replacing the carb with another rebuilt unit. Crystal'* father also has a 1983 and it is being painted right now, and he has an Edelbrock on his. I guess I can always get the right intake and carb and then if I upgrade to a 350 then I can always switch it over.

I will be going tomorrow to get prices on a few things that I need to get it on the road, like rear brake lines, front flex hoses, emergency cable. I don't actually need it to be running to get it "certified" for the road. Once I get it certified and insured, then I may play with it more. It just pisses me off that it is just sitting there and I can't drive it yet, lol.

Mine'* just sitting, too. My dad parked it b/c he couldn't afford to keep gas in it or insurance on it and now I don't have the money to get it moving again. If you decide to put the 4 bbl on it I have a Rochester in the shed needs rebuilding I'll sell ya dirt cheap.
