The other thing mine has done a couple times is reboot itself. It only does it when I flip it open (has happened maybe 5 times in 4 months). I contribute it to the fact that I've never turned it off since I bought. Probably clearing the memory or something. And, when I'm in a hurry sometimes the phone book is slow to respond to my quick demands.
