Well, the Series II L67 is no slouch.
But the 04 GP bascally got new everything. Not much is the same, so why not introduce a new mill on a brand new car. Plus the GP will be a good guinea pig for the Series III

The L67 is a more known engine and is not as intimidating as the new Series III (L32?). At least thats how I look at it, and I REALLY like the new Impala SS'* because they finally put an engine in there that it deseved years ago.
