New Computer
I need a new computer. My old one is done for so I need a good computer for around $400. Any suggestion to what is good for that price range. Qualities i'm looking for; reliability- I have no clue on how to work on computers, the ability to maintain speed when multiple tabs are open, fast download, and fast video streaming.

Pick one. Any will do what you want.
Or go with HP. with what you looking to do with the PC it all comes down to what brand you want and $
I would go with HP or Dell.
DO NOT get Gateway or a E machine.

The best deal right now with any brand is going to be a dell reburb box, same in-home warranty as new.
You can get a very nice dual core, 2GB, 320GB system for under $400 right now.

You need at least 2GB of ram to run vista nicely and to fit your needs. No question.
13 and 1 card reader for camera cards, dual dvd drives, one dvd burner, 320GB hdd, dual core proc and 2GB of ram...I dare you to find cheaper and something that carries a one year warranty. oh yeah..and the outsourced indian tech support we all love lol. This would cost around $550 new, but it has been refurbed (just as good as new). The refurb dell products statistily will have less problems than new systems as far as broken parts go.
System Price : $399.00
OS: Windows Vista Home Premium
Proc: AMD Athlon 64 X2 Dual-Core 3600+
Memory: 2 GB DDR2 SDRAM 677MHz
Hard Disk Drive: 320 GB EIDE SATA
16X DVD ROM Drive (non burner)
16X DVD +/- RW w/dbl layer write capability
13 in 1 Media Card Reader
Hell of a deal for what you get.
Dimension E521, filtered by 2GB of memory at this site.

Once you put 2000MB in the memory drop down, click filter and after it refreshes, click on the price at the top of the list to filter/sort by price.

It looks like the refurbs are the way to go. That is actually what my old computer was. Only I bought it from a friend, he got it refurbed in 01'. So it was old and shitty.
