PCI stands for Peripheral Component Interconnect. Kinda lame.

RDRAM, or Rambus, was used on early Pentium 4 chipsets for memory. When it came out, it was the most powerful RAM to use. Now, DDR RAM is the fastest, cheapest, and most powerful. DDR is just SDRAM, but with double the clock speed. Nothing against Rambus or anything. I have a PC with Rambus. It is slower, but it works fine. The only thing I have against Rambus is, it is a lot more money. It will run fine with most games. I ran UT2K3 with 512MB of Rambus and it worked fine. Although, on my DDR box, it screamed!

AGP just is a dedicated channel for video only, Video in recent years has needed a direct path to the memory and processor in modern computers. Therefore they created AGP to use instead of PCI. PCI has one path for all devices in a computers PCI slots, so they are all sharing the bandwidth. AGP is just a super fast PCI for video only...

Sasage, You will alsays get that reply when checking hardware properites. The best way is to look inside you box(following safety procedures for your model).Just loot at your PCI board. The PCI slots are white or beige in color. The AGP slot will be dark brown in color and shorter in length. Another can you can do is download a free utility called Belarc Advisor. It will tell you everything about your computer and then some. I usr it on both of my systems.

Man you are right, DDR ram is super fast, a little while back RD ram was the quickest, but now DDR will blow Rambus away. I didn't even realize it, untill I looked.

My board has dual channel DDR, which has a 128bit data path compared to a 64 bit data path with normal DDR.

So I have DDR with double the bandwidth. That REALLY MOVES! It'* like the SSEi of RAM.
