Need Help: Digital Cable vs. Satellite
Alright here'* the deal. We have had Adelphia Digital Cable for something like three years now and have had no problems with it whatsoever. However, they have just increased the rates on us. We get all local, all expanded, every premium channel, and cable internet and we pay $160/month. Does that sound high to anyone else? I'd like to know (if you wouldn't mind) roughly what everyone pays for their cable or dish and what channels you get. I would appreciate any feedback. I'm tired of seeing my parents getting ripped off jsut so I can watch a few boobie movies!!! Help!!!

how many modems and boxes do you have? I like cable because of most weather conditions you can still see whatever you watch. Downfall for the dish, if the dish breaks, you gotta wait til someone fixes it again.

Since we only get basic cable and internet as part of our rent, we only pay 40 bucks a month for it.
BUT... The one chance I had to spend a week at a friends house who had sattelite made me hate it. It was just like having an antennae. If a plane flew over, you'd get interference. The on screen "helpers" were annoying as all get-out. Etc....
I much prefer cable

That price sounds VERY, VERY high to me. We pay $48 or so per month for extended basic (everything but HBO, Max, etc.) and cable internet. That also includes the $3 rental per month for the modem.
It helps to have a wife that likes to argue with utility companies! Threaten to turn it off and they'll lower the prices for you...

For TV I like satellite. FOr internet I would go cable all the way. I have satellite internet and it'* sloooooow. Your cable is probably a 1.5 Mbps connection. My satellite on a good day will go around 500kbps. At most times it'* at around 200kbps. If you do any downloading you'll really love that after 170 MB downloaded in a 4 hour period your connection is cut down to around 24kbps!
