Most of the time after I run Spybot Search & Destroy it won't remove some of the items and I get a reply: "Some problems couldn't be fixed; the reason could be that the associated files are still in use (in memory)"

How can I fix this?

CAD that program. If it doesn't showup in the list look for the old school WinClose.

Or you could do it the easy way and delete it in DOS.

could you please translate that into terms I could understand? Like: go to Start, click on ..., type in..., etc

If not I might wipe out the whole system or something. Thanks!!

if you don't have v. 1.3 or something like that, you need to get that. Then update it, immunize it, and scan. If it can't remove some of those items, it will ask you if you want to run spybot at next reboot, you select yes, and then reboot your machine.. I found it takes a while for it to run.. but it will get the crap off. It'* the same interface you would see under windows. Fairly simple process, if you need, I am sure I could compile a better description with screen shots and such.. but that should do.

I do have 1.3 but the same things are still there after I have rebooted the computer and run it again. Thats why this is frustrating. I run this program & Adaware at least once a week.

obviously something is comming back.. you need to figure out the variable, if spybot removes it, and it comes back in a day or two, then spybot is doing it'* job, and you are downloading, or something is being installed making it come back.. have you updated and immunized? Those will prevent proper operation also.

Justin it can't come back if it never left. Some things don't ever get removed and that is what I'm trying to figure out how to get the stuff gone.

I'm with Merlin.
Update both spybot and adaware then restart in safe mode and scan.
What exactly can't it remove?
