OK, if I understood this right, you broke up because of the distance between you. And her response was "I'll rip your face off"....
Ummmmm, not to sound cold and cynical, but I think it'* time to just move on. Sounds like a pretty drastic response to a simple break up...

Dude, I wish I could help you out but I don't have a relationship experience prolly because HS relationships are meaningless. However, the words that the ex GF said was pretty brutal. I don't know if it was the heat of the moment or her true feelings, but if she did say those things, I would consider it a total loss. I'm sure there'* a better one out there for ya.
Best of luck

Well, I would have to agree with Christine & Melissa. Give her a little time to cool off and then approach her. Be sincere and apologetic and tell her what you were thinking. Women like to know WHY things happen and WHAT caused them to happen.
It is hard to give you any further advice without knowing what exactly happened. It must have been insane considering it caused her to say what little you've shared with us.

ok, now that I had a pretty good night sleep, skipped my first class of the day(slept and felt great haha) I can think a little strighter.
We broke up in Aug. because my parents were moving and I was going to school 6 hours from her house. I knew I wouldn't have transportation to see her on weekends, so it would have been about 28weeks before I would see her again. I HATE long distance gf/bf relationships, so I broke of the gf part and we agreed to be friends. Which is pretty normaly for me, since I talk with all my ex-gfs (well except her right now).
We emailed back and forth while she is at work, because her job is boring, and its a good way to keep in touch. (Since late Aug, we have sent over 550 emails back and forth)
So...yesterday morning...I was on very little sleep, stressed over that paper (editing it over and over) and I just sent an email that was by no means good. (I read it now and think when/why the **** was I thinking like that...I read it and wonder if it was really me. but it was, so I have to take the blame)
BonnieBrougham: yes it was 120% my fault
MOS95B: broke up because I left for college, remained friends, and I just ruined that friendship.
SSE14U24ME: it basicly contianed all the things that are normally said "sugarcoated" in a blunt tone, plus some.
Thanks to all those who have given advice.

Rob,
If I were in your shoes, I'd hand write a letter. No E-Mail, not face to face. Hand write something. I've found the woman in life really reads into the emotion behind handwritten words. Subconsciously when you write yourself, you're conveying what you're really thinking and not what you want to think.
You're a good guy and crap happens. Just be honest.
