Default Need a computer guru'* help

I may be guru, but Im not software smart. I just redid my computer yesterday and I installed my ATi drivers and it automatically goes to 1024x768. My monitor does not support 1024x768. Where can I get in to change it as it won t let me do it in safe mode. Can I go into a .ini file and change it to 800x600? My monitor supports many modes except 1024x768. Can anyone help? If not Im stuck in safe mode. :(

In safe mode you sould be able to uninstall the ATI drivers and then reboot and start over

Do you have another card you can put in and boot up with?

If I remember right, you should be able to set the screen resolution in Safe Mode.

I know I had this same fight once, but it'* been so long I can't remember how I fixed it....

It wont do it in XP, I have done it in 2k, ME, 98 and 95 but won't do it in XP. Isnt there a way to get into a .ini file for registry to change it to say... 800x600? My other choice is to take my computer to my moms house and use her monitor to set the right resolution. BTW my monitor is a IBM Lenovo 19" Flat CRT.

that'* the easiest way, use another monitor. Your 19" won't do 1024? Weird

My 19" does 640x480, 800x600, 1152x864, 1280x1024, and 1600x1200. And I think a few other odd ones. I use 1152x864.

Might be the obvious but I didnt see anyone post on it so:

Right click in the middle of your screen and then click Properties, settings and make sure your color quality is at is highest then go to screen resolution.

Hope that helps. :?:
