Is my computer suppose to be as hot as my car(temp was)
The other day I had lan party at my house. So we started playing games and then my computer slows way down. I am like what on earth is going. Start closing programs, Still very slow. Finial I check the temp it is running at 200 F. Ouch. So I take it part and found major dust issues. In fact some of the dust had started to somke. Now that is clean new heat compund is back on chip it runnig 150 f which still hot but it is well under the break point of this computer.

150f still strikes me as still ridiculously hot.
I run a cool, calm, and collected 107F (42C) at full load, and 95F (36C) at idle.

dang. the heat indicator on my video card is telling me I'm at 47C right now.. it'* usually at more around 52 though. This is with just browsing the internet. It often gets up to near 65 when playing CPU intensive games..

150 is still hot but some of the voltage control to the chip are broken. So the cpu runns at full voltage all the time. The good thing is that it always runs at that temp. even at full load

DUDE!! Holy ****. I used to run at 60*C.. upwards of 70* under load. You NEED to get that fixed, pronto. Mine was fixed with a Zalman heat sink [it'* the flower one, forgot part number] and a 120mm fan. 30* temps no matter what. Quieter too.
You really do need to get that fixed, that is WAY too hot for any Intel or AMD CPU.

Umm spec is anything over 180 for my chip is to hot. I and I am running a thermal take two 80 mm fan then 120 pci card blower. case temp never runs more then 5 degres above house temp. Like I said the voltage control on the board broken and runs wide open all the time. Not worried my coimputer has run for 6 months at time with out carsh so is stable. The only reason it sisn't go farther is the power went out My other good machine I have the cpu running about 95 fernheit systtem is never more then a degree above house temp. So I actual do know lot about cooling. Ant hte good machine is overclocked be about 300 mhz.

Don't really need it unless you're a geek, overclocking, or having heat issues (crashing).
