Default My brother is very lucky..... 2003 Envoy Accident

My brother was in a mutliple car accident with my parents 2003 Envoy.
The main thing is no one was injured.

He was turning (making a left) on a yellow/red light, when a car accelerated and ran the light just as it went red. My brother thought the other cars were stopping because they were so far back.

The green Acura hit the Envoy as my brother made the turn, both cars accelerating. It spun the Envoy into a Cavalier stopped for the light, and that deflected it between a power poll and the traffic light pole.

Here'* the thing..... if the blue Cavalier had not have been there, the Envoy would have ended up in 30th down in the river.

Also, when it went between the light and power poles, it knocked over a main power box, but it was ripped completely off and killed the power to the intersection. Good thing the power had been killed otherwise my brother and his passanger would have been electracuted(sp) when they stepped out (they couldn't see what they had hit, it was under the front bumper).

Again... the main thing is no one, in any car was hurt.

Crash Scene Photos

My father inspecting the damage....

Another shot, notice the front wheel....

Front wheel from the other side..... axel is broken...

Picture of the intersection..... no skid marks.... no cars were braking...

Picture of the car that hit my brother.....

Notice the telephone pole in this picture... 6ft to the right of it is a 30ft drop to the river..

The river..... my brother must have a horse shoe up his ***....

Damn! Do you guys have power? Is that why the power station thing didn't go crazy?

Big pictures..

So the light was red and your brother was just clearning in intersections.. cuz if it was yellow or green and he got hit making a left its his fault...

Not if you crept into the middle when it was still green, and watited for the traffic to clear, or the light to switch.

Light was yellow turning red.... it'* not clear if the Acura went thru at the very end of the yellow, or when it was red. Doesn't look good insurance wise.

Glad to hear no one was hurt.
I know this might be an odd observation but it looks as if no air bags deployed. I would think taking out a power box and denting the front bumper like that should have deployed the Envoy'* air bag. And that the little car had to be going fairly fast to spin an Envoy around I would have thought his would have deployed as well, hummm weird.

But still glad no one was hurt.

Airbags are pretty easy to set off, just gotta hit the sensors. I'm alway careful around mine when i have the hood up.
