First, Venom is going back on my "I hate you list"
And, as I figured, his mom is freakin' out
Maybe i should be, too, but he'* on the other side of the country. What can I do but hope he knows what he'* got himself into and wish him the best...

So, Austin text-messaged me several times yesterday, and we finally spoke last night. As I understand it:
-They got married last Tuesday, Aug 1st at a chapel off post, in Monterey.
-Per his text message, it was "mostly to move off post and stuff", to which he added "sorry to say".
-They are in the 4th week of an 8 week marriage class, conducted on post. He doesn't think they can move off until they finish, which would be the day Rich & I leave Monterey.
- Amanda is in the process of changing her last name to Herry, but he still calls her by her last name, which is Blonda (sp?). Maybe it is mostly a "business deal".
- He said she told her parents, but when I asked how they took it he said "I don't know; I didn't talk to them".
- When I asked him if it is a long term thing, and whether or not I should congratulate them he told me I was over-thinking the whole thing.

Oh jeez. Don't worry about it. Us dumb kids pull stunts like this all the time. I just did that not long ago(I gave my family a one week notice). Her family doesn't even know yet. I don't see a problem with it. Don't worry about him as he can probably take care of himself. Worst case, he has to kill her so she doesn't file divorce and rob him blind.
Chris Rock once said:
"You can make 100,000 a year, and the woman will want 50,000. That'* fine, you're not starving. But if you're only making 30,000.... and she wants 15,000? You might have to kill her!"
Tell him to make friends with someone who has a wood chipper

Ah, I am reminded of what life was like for me in Guam...I did the same thing, and, uh, well......
At least a well behaved son came from the deal
I know all about that class. It was called PREP/SAVE in the Navy. As for him still calling her by her last name, that'* all part of being in the military...very few people knew me by my first name, and I called almost everyone by their last name too.
