The power is back on now and I just turned the pump on. Looks like no broken pipes or other complications. Now to start cleaning up!
Yikes. I guess you had to do what you had to do...but that doesn't sound like fun. Stay safe and warm.

HA!

Yea, my wife announced the other day that "We will NOT be having a Christmas tree this year". I'm really glad.

Nasty. Glad nobody was injured in that pic.
I remember our natural disaster here in Ohio was the ice storm right after Christams 04. My parents' place was without electricity for 7 days, and we lost a lot of trees. Fortunately, the one tree that really scared us never came down. The ice that was built up on it shattered off during the night and scared the Bejezus out of us though. We had another tree in the side yard, a pine about 35' tall, that bent parallel to the ground, then acouple days later went off like a bomb, literally exploded, while I was outside filling the bird-feeder. When I heard the bang, I dove back into the house, thinking it was the massive cottonwood that overhung the porch.
Pataskala, where my parents live, really was a disaster area. They closed over 3/4 of the streets in town because of downed trees and wires. There were still people without power 2 weeks later.
