base was 3100 and SS was 3400 there for a while
and then base was 3400 with SS being the L36 for a while
and then base was L36 with SS being L67
and now i think the base is still the L36 with the SS being the 5.3 V8? could be wrong on that or any of them really.
i agree with only certain colors/wheels looking good, the styling and overall appearance of those cars varies between a love/hate on each individual car.
I think the new ones use the 3.5L as a base, with the optional LS4 for the SS.
