Many "old" threads
Lately I have been browsing around the forum and see many people getting in trouble for bringing up old threads. To my knowledge I have not seen anywhere where it says whats old. I know some people bring up several year old threads, those I know are old. But what about ones that are 1 month old, 3 months, etc? What exactly is an old thread. Maybe some clarification would help some folks. Thanks.

What is considered to be an "old" thread is one that has been "dead" for about 3 months. However, if that thread is has an update to it, then we usually allow it. We also allow members to redirect other members to old threads that may be a reference point for them. Like in Techinfo, or things like that. We do not like old threads being started back up again, and we would prefer if a new thread was started.
I hope this answers your question.

The biggest reason is that our knowledge changes and evolves as we learn. Old topics sometimes have inaccurate or old information in them.
The amount of time that makes it 'old' is a judgement call the Moderators make based on the content of the topic.
