Looking for projects for a mechanical engineer-to-be.

ideally this should be something relatively simple with little/no moving parts. something that the ins and outs are completely known, with a schematic available.
this isnt to stretch her mind, its just to give her more experience using the metal shop.
i mentioned headers earlier, would that be a good idea or a bad idea, given the materials and her own prowess? intake?
something slightly more complicated maybe, but with schematics/drawing available?
notice where the focus is.

materials: whatever the machining shop has on hand and whatever we buy. flat sheet, billet, tube are all acceptable.
