Default Looking for a e-mail client (not outlook)

I am looking for a mail client (free) that will allow me to connect thru a proxy server to get my email. I don't want to use outlook either. Anyone have any thoughts on this?

Eudora has been a pretty good one for a while. Maybe see what Open Office has,

Otherwise many aftermarket browsers like Mozilla have email clients built in.

Open office has no e-mail client. Eudora ain't free no more, not if you want any features anyways

This is what I have now, but I don't see a way to direct it thru a proxy. This is for my work laptop and I don''t want to set IE thru a proxy since we have internal sites and stuff.
