PJ.. got my first sunroof in my truck. And to help you out with ever thinking about not having one. I'll NEVER go back willingly.

the altimas look much better than the NEW maximas but she has to feel the massive downgrade in performance between the 2.5 and the 3.5

My mom'* boyfriend has the 2.5L altima.. and it'* super quick. It'* an '04 with 50k [all highway, and he drives quite a ways for work]. He can smoke 'em from a light anytime. Better gearing for passing someone on the highway, but as far as 0-60, I think my b'ville could take it.. especially if he smokes them starting off. Never rode in a 3.5L, so I cannot compare the two.

It'* a very nice car, and you are right, it does have a LOT of leg room. Almost too much. More than mine in the front, same in the rear.

As far as appearance goes, I like those Maximas.. not a huge fan of the 04-type body style, and the 05 is attractive, but eh not drop dead gorgeous. But the 99-type body style is to die for. Love it. [like the one pictured above]

I wouldn't think so. My mom'* '98 with the older 2.4L with 150hp/155lb-ft should be able to edge out the Bonneville, even with the GX3 gearing.

Off the line, perhaps. But by the top of 1st gear, I feel Bonneville will be a-trailin'

Yes, that is correct. 0-60 I think i'd have him, but past that i'd be screwed. 0-48 [1st gear] I'd have him.

EDIT: Also, he has riden with me since the top end rebuild. I did not drive the car hardcore or anything, since that was the first time taking it out. However I did give her a little gas, and at the time he thought the car would have a chance for sure. Again, I'd really never know for sure except for doing a head-to-head comparison. If we are talking high-speed differences, I know my car can go faster. I believe he mentioned the limiter is just over 100mph or so? Either way, I somehow have an inclination to believe my car can go over 100.. but that'* just what a friend told me

It'* a fine car, more then enough power. 2.5 manual cars are nice...

I'd take a newer Alt over the Bonne personally.... The bonne feels fast cause of the torque launching, but it only goes downhill after that.

I wouldn't mind the new Altima SeR My friend has an 02 or 03 Alt 2.5. More than enough power is right. Hey, I got 150hp in my 2.4, and it'* not too bad, especially on the highway. Of course I don't drive this car like I drove my Bonneville, that'* why I'm not too disappointed in my 2.4. I do miss the torque though.

If your mom never really USED the power the Maxima had, then the 2.5 is a better fit for her anyway.
