Local Street racing Tragedy
We had a local tragedy last night in the street racing community. The driver of a Crown Vic came up on the smoke and hit spectators that stood in the smoke filled roadway then veered off of the roadway into other spectators. In total there were 8 killed.
The real tragedy is the age of the victims and the fact that the accident was caused by the smoke from the burn outs.
I am a strong proponent against street racing. If you want to race go to the track. Track racing provides a safer environment and there is medical support in the event of an accident.

Some are already trying to blame the Crown Vic driver. They said he didn't have his lights on. Baloney. Drag racers take off, and spectators, who had been standing on the side of the road, rush onto road to watch racers continue on down the road. Crown Vic comes upon them and hits 'em. Sad deal. Last I heard, racers have not be caught.
