Lebanon, OH?
The client I am working for right now told me I should apply for a job with them in Lebanon, OH (in the Cincinnati / Dayton area). I don't think Lebanon is a big city, but I would want to live out in the country regardless. I did some quick searching on City Data, and took a quick look at houses on Realtor.com but it I think it would help to hear it from people who actually live around there. Anyone know anything about this area?

I used to live 'round there. Depends how old you are (no idea...) if you have kids, houses aren't too expensive, schools are eh, okay. if you're younger, you kinda have to go somewhere for something to do... it'* a good 35-45 minute drive from downtown Cinti. but if you don't mind being kinda out there then it'* a good in-between

Not exactly the middle of nowhere, but a good drive from any major city. You'd be about 30min from Cincy, an hour from Columbus, maybe 45 min to Dayton, and about 20min to Middletown. Close enough to Cincy, Dayton, or Middletown for a reasonable daily commute.
Nice area, beautiful countryside, couple state parks nearby. Kind of on the border of hills/plains areas, so lots of pretty little roads, too, including one of my favorite little fun-runs.
Southwest Ohio is pretty thoroughly middle class, with a lot of pretty little towns. Just don't move into Middletown, where "the Wrong Side of the Tracks" is pretty rigidly enforced, if you know what I mean. Middletown is a small city with some pretty major big-city issues.
If you want small-town living but still want the conveniences(AKA, a commercial strip), take a look around Xenia or Wilmington.

Thanks everyone. The job itself is in Lebanon, but I would probably live anywhere within a half hour drive from there. Sounds like it is a decent part of the state overall.
Does Ohio smog test or do vehicle inspections?

Neither. Only my area of Ohio (NE Ohio Cleveland area) does E-Checks. You will not need a inspection, nor a E-Check, BUT you will need a Inspection if you transfer your title into a Ohio title. It'* only a few bucks and all they do is verify the VIN on the title matches the one on the car.
Another perk of that area of Ohio, is that they don't get near as much snow as where you and me are at.

In some ways I miss living there. The peace and quiet, the lower prices and the ability to actually find what I need in the salvage yards...But once the winter hit, you'd find my butt back here in Texas!
It'* a beautiful area in Lebanon, been there many times. The local head of the POCI chapter lives there, I believe.
In Nov. 2002, I bought a nice little 1991 Sunbird convertible. I didn't get to put the top down until MAY. It literally snowed every other day. Then I moved here in June. I gave away my little Sunbird.

Excelent! No-smog = easier mods! lol
Yup, got to Baltimore (OK, actually Columbia) late Wednesday night. All that rain my flights got delayed.
I think I left your place about 11:30pm and got back to Westborough just after 1am (I took a slight detour...). It was pretty calm until about 1-90 near Worcester. I either need another boosted bonnie or a gp gxp; but at the same time I probably don't!
