It has been a while for me but if a place called Henry'* is still out there on Cape Henry give it a try. Has a huge salt water fish tank and the food was really great.

I guess I should speak up. I found the best way to spend the 4th here, is to get the frack out of here! I go home to PA. If I was here then I'd offer to meet up and show you some cool Navy stuff.
For real. I have not heard if the fireworks will be ocean front or some where else.
Princess Ann Park or MT Trashmoore. (you pass it coming in, it'* the big dirt mound with the city seal on it)
Check out some cool cars @ Jenros on the corner of Indypendance (sp)and Haygood rd. Sat 3pm-dark
You can take a free tour of a battle ship in Norfolk.
You can park out front of my base NAS Oceana and watch the flight ops.
As for eats, the main stomping ground is Capt Georges on Laskin for buffet sea food.
Thier a few "good" places Pick up a tourst paper at teh hotel and there in there.
Being I live here I avoid the ocean front for well as much as I can.
I will warn you watch for welcome to VAB cops sitting after the VA beach/ Laskin road off ramp and cycles sitting in the center on 264 from that point on. Also they love check points so walk if you drink and even then watch out the fun police who ticket you for swearing are out. Look for no !$&&@! signs!

I was hoping to find something simular, a town/city sponsored fireworks show; not buy some to bring home. Sorry for the confusion there.
95SLE - Thanks for the Henry'* tip. We'll see if its still there
Rosco - thanks for the tips!! Does Captn Georges have non-seafood fare besides salad bar stuff? My wife won't do anything seafood at all so it may be out.
I'll probably hit the car show, I love classic muscle! The airbase is a maybe, is there a designated viewing area maybe? The grandson and I hit the airport here and watch the F16'* of the 174'th come and go during the summer. Afterburners at night are so SWEET!
Thanks for the cop warnings, I hope the swearing thing was a joke cause thats just way too friggin funny if your serious!
Thanks again everyone.

Yes Rosco, barely.
Sure is HOT down there!. It was 100+ three of the days we were there; rained once for a few minutes then the humidity soared: I was sweating standing still in an airconditioned store watching 2 ladies checking out blankets to buy. LOL so I asked if it ever got cold enought to even use a blanket and one replied yes she uses one at night when it get cooler...
So how long were you gonna keep Cici'* a secret ? LOL
$3 for all you can eat pizza buffet!!!! Not that its great pizza but wow!
