Internet
I don't get it. I currently have THE highest residential internet package that TimeWarner has. 50x5. That'* 50Mbit'* down and 5Mbits up. And that costs $120 a month. This does NOT include TV or phone.
Just looked up the price for their Business Class internet. 10x1 is a FLAT $109.99 per month/1 year contract. And this does not include extra options like hosting or security. Let'* add a STATIC IP address. 1 static IP is an additional $30 per month. Total $139.99 per month. Only $19 more per month than what I pay.
The only extra thing I'm looking for is a static IP address so I can do my own web hosting. But according to TWC, they don't offer static ip'* for residential customers. WTF? What'* the difference between my EXPENSIVE internet vs the equally expensive business class?

The same reason they can offer you a killer TV package for less than a 100 bucks a month for 90 days than BOOM! your bill is like 150 a month. Because they can.

I read somewhere they use to do it with the residential packages, but not anymore. Maybe they just want to keep people like me from hoarding the market from the "small" business.

It could be because of your location. All of the cable/DSL companies adjust their pricing and speeds based on how good the equipment is in that area, what technologies they have deployed, and who'* competing against them.
For example, your top-tier residential service offers almost the same speeds as I have with Charter Communications' low-end residential service, but nearly half the price (when bundled with other services I don't really need).
Maybe you can use DNS CNAME'* to work around a dynamic IP. I'll PM you an idea.
