I got to thinking, as I stare out at my three running IM services, what does everyone else use? What'* your favorite (or only, if you only run one) Instant Messenger service? and Why? Just a random topic for discussion and to satisfy my own inquiring mind.

I never put my input in. I use all three running at the same time, but feature-wise I like Yahoo, but no one'* on it. AIM is my general favorite because everyone I know uses it.

You and the others here should check out Miranda IM or Trillian... You can run multiple clients through one medium.... really creates less bog down on your computer. I use trillian for AIM and I use the regular MSN since it has a really clean interface and I utilize nearly all the functions.

But trillian for yahoo//aim//icq.

I use 'em all. Like rjolly I also use Gaim. Best damn instant messenger out there. Multi-protocol and multi-operating system make it very good. Oh and did I mention it was opensource .
