I dunno if this has already been said but. What if the microsoft worm killed the power? If it did, and the found the hacker that did it, they should put his *** away forever.

The common theory is a lightning bolt hit a power station and started a fire, and the wrong steps were done to keep power flowing... thus causing a cascade effect.

The newest paranoia theory we've been hearing from our customers is that the new virus did it. Possible but nor probable, as most of those kinds of computers run on UNIX, not Windoze. The conclusions some people will jump to for the sake of drama, huh?

They believe they know where it is now. It was between cleveland and detroit, and they know what 3 transmission lines helped start it, but they don't know what plant etc did, well they won't tell us. Lol unix.... here'* a good quote "Two things have come out of Berkely, UNIX and Acid, we do not believe this to be a coincidence"

The story we are getting out of Toronto says that 3 transformers overloaded at one substation in Ohio. The resulatant cascade effect forced all generating stations in the Great Lakes regions to go into safe mode and shut down. The Loop that runs around NY state, Michigan, Ohio and into Ontario all shut down....apparently New York city was fully restored at 9:03pm last night. Tomorrow is the big test for Toronto....we power up to see if all is well.
There is no way a worm virus caused the overload that those Ohio substations. Personally the south end of Mississauga where I live has been running top notch since early Friday morning. However north of the southern most hwy...the QEW has been spotty.
