I just got done fixing mine. Ground heave brought up a metal rod/property marker on the back 40 and I took out a bearing housing assembly, belt and of course blade. Got it back together and was searching on the Sears website for belt arrangement and didnt get nowhere. So I went out to try to figure it out and the diagram was on a sticker put on the bottom of the tractor.... Duh. Sears is on of the few brands that doesnt Use MTD as their supplier. Thank God.... MTD (Made To Die) is the (Ford) of Tractors and I went thru 2 MTD WallyWorld specials in 4 years.

John, for a little hijack of Bill'* thread, try www.sears3.com for Sears related parts. I buy craftsman stuff for work there. Not sure whether or not they have your mower stuff there, but it doesn't hurt to try.

Thanx Lash . We have a local Sears repair shop which seems well supplied, it was just that the belt tore in half when I hit the property peg and it had a complex way of going around the pulleys and for awhile I thought they gave me the wrong belt.

Bill if yours was made in the middle 90'* MTD probably isnt even the manufacturer... they just started buying up other companies a few years ago and why I went back to Sears after 2 Wallyworld specials. It'* amazing how many companies MTD has bought out and kept the original names. Lift any Lawn tractor seat at Wallyworld,Lowes,Home Depot and you'll see waht I mean.

Sears still uses American Yard Products and the quality difference is very apparent apparent.
