I DISLIKE doctors
Ok, here goes. Throughout my life I've cringed every time I had to go to the doctor and either the doctor gave me a lame cure or I was sent to the specialist for the usual 10 visit appointment which ended up with me just giving up on them since I seem to be there experiment and the problem never being solved.
My Problem:
About a month ago I fell down the front porch stairs and now my right knee is swollen. I won't admit that there is pain..........on occasion, but I can't hide the swelling. Cathy is telling me that I'm @(#&$* and that I should go see the doctor. Well you know where that'* going. Is there anything I can do other than put ice on it or not walk on it to get the swelling down?
For the women on this forum, please don't tell me that I'm being a man. And for those in the US, seeing a doctor or specialist is free here in Canada so it has nothing to do with cost.
No flaming please!

I agree that sometimes the doctors use you as a testing lab but in this case, I think it would be cut and dry on your diagnosis.
I say go to the doctors and get your knee checked out. They will more than likely take an x-ray to find out why there is swelling.
It could be a pinched somthing. Only an xray would tell.
I dont think you have anything to worry about other than whats actually wrong with your knee.

It seems that evertime I go to the doctor I have a 45 minute wait even though I've made an appointment and then another 15 minute wait in that room before the doctor comes in. Then in a matter of 122 seconds he tells me something like, put some ice on it and take a couple aspirins then lay down for several hours.

Suck it up, go to the doctor. If it'* still swelled up after a month, there is something wrong that needs attention.
(this coming from a person who sees a doctor once every two years and only then because Transport Canada sends me a letter telling me to.)

lmao@3rdnipple!!
I think we all experience that waiting period time and again. Its a process.....just go and have the doc take a look. At least if the doc tells you to sit at home with your foot up, you at least have a doctors order to lounge around the house and get better. The wife cant argue with that!! The doc said!!

Do you have any choices to change doctors?
My current one is ready when your appointment is scheduled. Although I surely don't go as often as I should.

Sometimes, on rare occations, wives can be right.
You know you should go, otherwise you wouldn't have posted here looking for sympathy and waiting to be talked into it.
