Lounge For casual talk about things unrelated to General Motors. In other words, off-topic stuff. And anything else that does not fit Section Description.

I did not know that...

Shooting Starlings off of the Marlin house was how I learned my marksmanship...

I was aware that blue jays will do this as do many other of the larger "songbirds". I've never seen it though. And as much as some might hate to think of it that is really the natural order of things. Left to breed unchecked, the sparrows, etc. would infest areas and become serious nuisances, sort of like geese in the cities up north where there are no foxes or coyotes to keep them in check.

Can't say that I've ever seen a Jay do that. They do eat well (seed) at our birdfeeder, right alongside that sparrows. Maybe the little one did something to tick him off?!?!?!

I have seem similar, a small murder of crows grabbed a live Robin right out of the street and dragged it up into the big pine nearby. That shrieking while they were tearing apart was difficult to listen to, in all honesty.

I guess I have no problem with nature doing what it does, AS LONG AS THEY DON"T LEAVE THE D(#^# CARCASS IN MY YARD!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

That is sad! I once saw a baby bird fall from the nest and my cat ran over at picked it up. I tried fighting the cat for the baby birds life but the cat'* jaw wouldn't budge. That ticked me off so much!!!

Crapping on the Bonne would have been reason to dust his butt. Survival of the fittest isn't
