IF you're over half the credit limit on the card, it'* actually going to hurt your credit.

I owe about 25% on my house but all my cars are paid off which is quite an accomplishment being the type of cars. I about $2100.00 in credit card debts. Since moving to DE I am on an extremely low income and now with my fiance leaving me I make just enough to cover my bills but that leaves nothing to save.

Dont be in a rush for it to jump. My lowest card limit is $7500.00 and highest is $15,000 and all that does is get you into trouble. I miss the days of having $250.00 limit on my cards.

I've heard conflicting stories on that. My wife and I put EVERYTHING on credit card, then pay it off when the bill hits the mailbox. We have only one credit card and it'* typically near the max every month (but paid off consistently....and has been for YEARS).

Our credit scores are in the very high 700s.

Very good man! Mines in the high 600s and low 700s depending on which agency you check.

Bonneville is paid for, van has $12,000 to go, thinking about writing a check near the end of the year

Once that debt is gone, it'* just the mortgage. I've got to a point in my life where I've decided that I am going to just pay cash for cars for now on! So, Godwilling, the mortgage will be the only debt I have from here on out. And my plan is to own my house outright before the age of 40 (35 if things go really well).
