It may not be the absolute worst way to meet someone, but it'* gotta be close. Brad Paisley has a new, funny song and video about that whole scene
I'm So Much Cooler Online

And, like Maymybonne alluded to, the easiest way to meet a woman is to be with a woman. I think they can detect another woman'* scent on you and get competitive

here it comes.....

Here'* my advice...

Get involved in some groups that have a local social component.... like a church, softball league, a soup kitchen or something like that. The point is that you've gotta get out there.

Good luck.

I would love to comment on that, but I got in enough trouble already. (Thanks Boosty)
It does seem though that women are nicer to guys when they have a girlfriend.
I do agree with the theory of not looking, let it happen.

That is what I was thinking while reading this whole thread. I met my current g/f in class, through a mutual friend. I thought she was way outta my league, but my friend had three classes with her, got to know her well, we all hung out, and after a long battle we went from there (we both thought the other didn't like the other, but now look where we are).

That just shows how little men know about women. If I see a guy with another woman he is OFF limits to me. I don't look for men and they find me. I weed through them to try and find the nice one of the bunch. Nice guys are as hard to find as nice women. Just stop looking and be yourself. When the time is right you will find each other when you least expect it.
