I don't know how long, maybe 45 sec, or so. Actually way longer then I think it should for being less then 6 mo old and not having that much on it.

This is whats weird to me:........
AMD 267Mhz, 64 Meg memory/ in Bedroom - under 45 secs
Celeron 566Mhz, 256 Meg memory in Den - 90 secs or so
New Dell w/Pentium M 1.73Mhz, Gig memory - 3 minutes

Why does faster=slower?? Is it the hard drive size 5gig, 20gig, 80 gig respectively.
Or XP vs Win98?? Or the fact I give a **** about new one and bought Microcillin and Pest Trap?

My PC here at school takes forever. I have Windows 2000 Pro on it, and both hard drives are full (less than 50mb free on each), and its only a 1.4 celeron w/384mb ram. It seriously takes like 4 minutes to boot up, maybe longer. I only turn it off like once a month though so its not like it much matters.

As for my laptop, I haven't clocked it but I'd guess it takes about 1 minute or so. I usually just put it on hibernate though and its really quick then. I got it for Christmas though so its not too old. 1.6 Ghz Centrino w/1gb ram.

right around 30 seconds or less. (although it often likes to freeze at the "windows XP professional" screen and I have to restart it repeatedly until it actually starts.)
4ghz processor, 4 GB ram, SATA II drives, etc.
