How Far Would you Go?

You know all, I think it would be okay to contact her and congratulate her on all her successes. If Angie doesn't have a problem with it, and it is purely innocent, then there is nothing wrong with it. Jim, I know you are a stand-up man, and you will do what you feel is right.

Go for it, i personally wouldnt go googling for an email adress but next time you see her mom ask her for an email adress, send her an email and take it from there, its not as if your trying to fire up a new relationship with her so send her a email. If your current g/f trips out then she might be pretty insecure about things and a relationship cant be like that, this old grade school friend is how many hours and kms away! Go for it youll regret in the long run.

Everybody is different. You and me think that saying hi to an old friend of the opposite sex is just a way of seeing how things are going and just being nice. Whereas some people think its stocking. People are weird that way. Parinoid and suspicious. Thats the reason why you can't just go up to a random stranger of the opposite sex and ask how they're doing without possibly facing jail time or being sued. Sad but true. They are NOT that way in Europe though. Just seems to be an American flaw.

See, I don't see it as a stalking issue. I actually did much the same thing with a guy I met at a concert. I saw him later on TV and looked him up and sent him an e-mail (explaining why I knew who he was, and where the info had come from). So, no I don't think what you did was stalking, or stalkerish. My concern is about the fact that we are dealing with another girl, when you've already got one that means so much. I would say the same thing to a girl who had a boyfriend, I don't think the double standard is really there.

I've never had a GF either <wicked grin>, but I can say that it'* not a "girl" thing nor a "guy" thing, rather it'* a "human" thing. People are competitive by nature...mix that up with some ever-so-slight-insecurities...toss in a few bad relationships...and <poof> you get defensive behavior. Some folks are more so than others...and extreme cases of jealousy is driven by guilt.
But....all in all...I think Harry summed it up in the above quote.

Not reading half this thread...
I would say go for it man! If she thinks your weird for finding her, then oh well, drop it. And I would say keep it under wraps, dont actively pursue it but just maybe a quick hi.
