How Far Would you Go?
Today I had an interesting experience.
We got our flu shots, and in a case of wicked "small world syndrome" the public health nurse and a few other guys in the room here at work started talking about family heritage. Anyway, she mentioned her last name and that she had 5 children. But thats the boring part....
I went to GRADE school (from 5th to 8th grade) with one of her twin daughters...coincidently I had a major wicked preteen crush on this girl. We we're friends, and she probably knew (you girls are so smart!) anyhow....Her mother promised she would mention my name and see if she remembers. Unfortunately Kristina is away at Stanford University taking her Masters degree. Her twin sister Natalie is at the University of Modern Art in NYC...never really liked Nat tho, we never got along.
Out of curiousity I wenta Googlin..
And I found her. And I was put to academic shame. Yes I have a good job, and I've worked on some huge construction projects thru its design and construction, but this girl has reached an academic and professional level that I cannot ever reach.
I had hopes that Kristina and I would go to the same high school because we always had similar interests (design and technology) but her parents insisted she go to a Catholic HS, I was heart broken, but we went our separate ways.
Here is a snipit of her resume

Now to my point, I would like to contact her to congratulate her on all successes, but I dunno if I should.
What do you folks think? Search for an email addy and contact her or is that too stalker weird?
What a day so far

To be honest though, I dont think it would be tooooo weird, but ya..Its been like 12 years now.
Logan, I know exactly what you mean. Shes accomplished so much at only 25 years old.
*sigh* great girl, I'm glad shes done well. Ya know, the more I think about it, she musta been the ONLY girl in that Bio-eng class

Hrm, so...if it was a guy friend that I went to school with, it would be ok?
Interesting ties between genders and its subseqent discrimination, I have absolutely zero romantic interest in her, its purely nostalgic.

here'* my suggestion. Her mother is going to mention working with you to her. See where that leads and then it'* totally innocent and cool.
If you go looking for someone you previously had a crush on .. it appears you are stalking and there'* questions behind the motive.
