Hope for my friend, Darren
Hi Everyone,
Some unfortunate news. A very dear friend of mine since kindergarten was brutally attacked September 28, 2008. He was waiting in line at a Subway sandwich shop:

He recently came out of a coma, but has a long way to go. I've been friends with Darren for so long, words can't describe how devestating this has been.
The article pretty much says it all. On YouTube, the attack was captured. A bystandard was able to videotape it using a digital camera. The attack was completely unprovoked.
I have put together an e-mail address for Darren:
hopefordarren@sympatico.ca
I am hopeful people will drop an e-mail there with words of support and inspiration. Sue (Darren'* wife) will have a long financial battle too, as the healing battle will be completely uphill. It is unknown if Darren has any brain damage as a result of his injuries. So, I set it up also for those that wish to make a financial donation to help weather the storm for this family. Those wishing to do so can leave their phone number and contact info, and I will personally contact them to see what they had in mind.
As mentioned, words of hope are just as grand!
Tomorrow morning I will be taking part of a radio interview with a local station to promote hopefordarren@sympatico.ca
It is truly unfortunate for this sort of thing to happen to anyone. It is maddening that the person who did this to Darren is out on bail, enjoying his life, while my friend fights for his.
Cheers,
Adam

Sorry to hear about your friend, Adam. What a senseless attack. I will certainly drop them a line on your setup email. And a Prayer for his complete recovery.

OMG, that is a tragedy. It really makes you wonder what makes some people tick... I hope this guy gets put away for a long, long time! My hopes and prayers go out as well. Good wishes to all who were affected, especially those children.

Thanks, guys.
I did a little radio interview this morning, and the DJ made a major mistake. During the introduction, the DJ said, "Darren Gibson, who lost his life in Kingston...." and then I was on the air. I felt like saying, He'* not dead, you jackass, but I let it go. It was an over the phone interview, so someone in his camp must have corrected him, because the DJ said, "How'* he doing, anyway??"
Oh my.... I noticed, not sure if other listeners did.
I can post the audio somewhere. I'll give you a link once I get it posted. I recorded the program over the internet using my recording software, I just need to mix it to .mp3.
Cheers,
Adam
