*edit, there is still bands in some states that have there own laws, some states still only let you have upto 10 rounds..

I wouldn't describe the trigger pull as "smooth", unless you mean, "really long". But, after taking the whole gun apart, and doing some really light sanding to the trigger bar and other components, the trigger pull did get smoother. I also use synthetic grease on all the parts, and even after I wipe most of it off, it still leaves a nice slick feeling behind. Grease generally lasts longer, so I know it'll work flawless if I ever need it to.
Now, my .45ACP... THAT is smooth. It'* a Kimber Custom II Stainless Target 1911. Oh, man. Big, heavy, accurate, powerful. Clumsy to carry concealed, though. If I was visiting Vermont again, I'd probably carry that one, as you can carry in the open in that state. And, there'* almost no crime in Vermont. Conincedence?

Yea, custom tags, mudnuts decals, I'm real inconspicuous. I also didn't know if the kids were armed or anything when they came up to the vehicle. All I know is I'm pretty sure I'd be a better shot than them.. I've put several thousand rounds thru the gun target shooting.
I'd have to make sure I get a backup barrel for that gun.

How many people hold up a freakin' store with a full-auto 50-round magazine "assault" rifle?
They use 6 to 10 round hand guns. So, all this "assault" rifle legislation is just an attempt to ban "ugly guns". That'* it. It didn't do anything to curb illegal guns.
Bayonettes were banned. Huh? Really? Damn, the gangbangers are gonna be sad they cant run someone thru with the blade on the end of their musket.

Be careful modifying a trigger. Anything under 3lbs pull will land you in front of a Grand Jury even if you were justified in the shooting. Modified or handloaded ammo is a big no-no as well.
I custom built my 45 from the ground up. Only the frame and slide are Colt, and both have been modified. All internal parts are aftermarket, and custom jobs by me, including the grips. My trigger pull is EXACTLY 3.1 lbs, and very crisp.

What do we need assault weapons for? Self defense. And the assaut legislation is bull. Thomas Jefferson warned us that the government wiill try to take that right away from us centuries ago and warn that without them we cant remain free. Alot of people are so caught up in just trying to live these days. They dont realize that under new Bush anti- terror laws our freedoms have been eroded to a level below that of the Magna Carta given to English subjects under the rule of a monarchy. Sad situation our democracy is headed with the Federal Government dictating new laws "in the interest of saving us from the world."

Well the notion behind an assualt rifle is a primarily offensive weapon, it'* really not needed for defense. The idea behind defense is that one should hope to never have to use the firearm, IMO a handgun of long gun would do just fine, you shouldn't need 30 rounds, or even 10 or even 5. Ideally it should just take one shot, if that. Now, I realise that this isn't always the case, but 10 rounds should be more than enough. The way I see it, if you are in a situation that requires more than 10 rounds, you should have gotten out of that situation through other means long ago, or learn how to shoot. lol
And modern society and freedoms being "eroded to a level below that of the Magna Carta" is complete BS. Granted one could argue that the current administration HAS eliminated some freedoms, to remark that we are back in the 12th century in terms of freedoms is simply asinine.

Ryan: A collapsable stock does not make a gun any more lethal. Nor does limiting magazine capacity. Can't legally have 10 round mags...get two 5 rounders...any content shooter can change in a couple of seconds. No removable mags? Insert more bullets

And having read alot of the new laws that give King George powers to pry on the general citizenship like no one since this country was founded, i dont think I'm that far off in my statement. With the weather phenomena has brought us and terrorsism at the level it is ...good luck with your ten rounds.... mine are exponentionally higher than that .
