History repeats itself.
It really is true.
Back in the 60'* when the muscle car era began to take off, fuel was cheap.
Then came Vietnam war. Soldiers parked their GTO'* and went off, whether they liked it or not.
Fuel prices, insurance and Gov't regulations forced the auto makers to create gems like the Vega and the Pinto. No more big blocks!
It took 30 years but here we go again. 500 hp production engines. War. Fuel prices....cost me near $90. for my last fill up.
It'* only a matter of time, now with all of us whining about the cost of driving cars that only get 15-20 mpg, that we will be forced to abandon our performance cars (and 10 cyl trucks) and drive 4 cyl. econoboxes that deliver 60 mpg.
Fight history. Hang in there guys. Tough it out.

gas is definately high now, it'* come down a little since a couple of days ago.
as for History, I believe you may be on to something, Gas may drive us to find other alternatives that'* not a bad idea though; Perhaps we can find a better solution someday........

I still blame Mall Suv/pickup drivers.
In California 1/3 cars is an SUV, not small SUV'* Expeditions and Tahoes and 1/1000 of them go offroading. Most of the time they all have 1 passenger.
Think of all the extra gas if 10,000 people switched to cars that get atleast 20 mpg instead of the 10 thier use too.
My parents drive a 5.9 Durango. 10 miles a gallon. They just let it sit in the garage.

I was thinking of the same idea except Our cars will be the next .
Chevelle, Gto, Cutlas, Etc. Hmmm the 2000+ is the last model style
maybe it'll be worth something in 20 years.
I need a garage and a beater for the winters.
